Pfc Richard E. Roop attended high school for two years and was employed at the Pacific Fruit Express before he enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 20 March 1944.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
