Pvt Ralph W. Morton Jr. enlisted at Camp Croft, South Carolina on 30 June 1943.Pvt Ralph W. Morton Jr. and 2 comrades preceded a patrol across a river near Sickels. On the opposite bank they came under attack, but continued to push forward where Morton was killed by enemy fire.
