Pvt Elmer E. Wood was employed at the Geo F Metz Diamond Point before he enlisted in Albany, New York on 11 November 1943.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his leg.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
He is remembered at the Warrensburg Cemetery in Warrensburg, Warren County, New York.
