Pvt David E. Jenkins Sr. graduated from Mahonoy Township High School and was employed as a truck driver for Park Crest Lumber Company.

He enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 21 December 1943 and was sent overseas in September 1944.

He died in a field hospital to the effects of artillery shell fragments in his femur sustained on 3 January 1945.
