T/5 Elwin G. Butler enlisted in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 18 June 1942.He died in a field hospital to the effects of artillery shell fragments on his small intestine.
He is also remembered at the Hills Creek Cemetery in Charleston, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
