1st Lt Lester F. Stepanek attended Wilson High School for four years and was a shipping and receiving clerk before he enlisted at Fort Des Moines, Iowa on 11 June 1942. He was sent overseas in September 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
