S/Sgt Roy J. Peacock attended high school for one year and was a miner before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 10 February 1942.

He was killed by small arms fire in his buttock and hip.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
