Pfc Charles E. Cain was a welder and flame cutter at the United Welding Company before he enlisted at Fort Thomas, Kentucky on 25 April 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He is also remembered at the Fairmont Cemetery, West Elkton, Preble County, Ohio.
