2nd Lt Christy M. Broughton Jr. attended college for three years and was a business manager of The Daily Illini.He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Urbana, Illinois on 15 August 1942 and was sent overseas in September 1944.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
