Pvt James R. Minnitti was a mechanic and repairman of motor vehicles before he enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 21 August 1943.

He was reported wounded in action on 8 January 1945 of artillery shell fragments and a skull fracture with brain damage. He died the next day.
