Sgt Harry D. Hedges attended Alameda High School for four years.He enlisted in San Francisco, California on 13 April 1943. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at Providence College.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments to the chest.
Sgt Hedges was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
