Pfc Richard E. Luetters Jr. attended high school for four years and was employed at the Seymour Manufacturing Company.

He enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 20 February 1943. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at Providence College.

Pfc Luetters was killed by artillery shell fragments to the chest.
