Pfc Robert N. Best attended college for one year and was employed at the Dow Chemical Company.He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in East Lansing, Michigan on 9 December 1942. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at Providence College.
Pfc Best was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
