Pfc Gerald E. Hilbert attended high school for two years and was employed at the Dobnoff Clothing Store before he enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 21 January 1944. He was sent overseas in January 1945.He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his thigh and arm.
