Sgt Francis J. Hyde graduated from Rosary High School in 1938 and was a draftsman before he joined the National Guard in Holyoke, Massachusetts on 16 January 1941.He was killed by small arms fire in his neck.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
