Pvt Thomas T. Pendergrast attended Liberty High School for four years and was employed at the Larabee Flour Mill in North Kansas City before he enlisted at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas on 8 May 1944.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
