More information

Pfc Leon A. Carr worked on his own farm before he enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 8 May 1944. He was sent overseas in October 1944.

He was killed by a direct artillery shell hit, which so completely destroyed his body that his death was confirmed only by witnesses to the tragedy.
