Pvt Elijah W. Harrison Jr. attended high school for four years and was a stock clerk at Charleston Ordinance Depot of the U.S. Government before he enlisted at Fort Jackson, South Carolina on 20 May 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
He is also remembered at the Goodwill Baptist Church Cemetery in Belews Creek, Forsyth County, North Carolina.
