Pvt Clifton Curl attended high school for two years and was a carpenter with L. Hastic before he enlisted in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 21 July 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his skull.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Failly, France.
