Sgt Cosimo A. Quaglia attended high school for four years and was an electrician before he enlisted at Camp Upton, New York on 1 August 1941.

He was killed from artillery shell fragments in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
