Pvt Ashby J. Vaughan attended high school for four years and was employed at the American Tel & Tel Company before he enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 16 March 1944.He was killed by artillery shell fragments to his femur and arm.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
