Pfc Daniel J. Mahaney attended college for one year and was employed at the United Aircraft Company.He enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 19 January 1943. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at Providence College.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
Pfc Mahaney is remembered at the Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut.
