T/4 Joseph A. Tropea attended college and was employed at the Civillian Conservation Corps before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 22 March 1941.He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
