S/Sgt John F. Bradeen attended high school for four years and was a sales clerk before he enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 2 February 1942.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
