Pfc Elvin G. Haslouer enlisted at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas on 3 August 1944.
Elvin was one of three Haslouer brothers who fought in World War II. (Edward Cletus, Louis Edgar and Elvin George). Louis spent twenty-eight months in the pacific theater at Guadacanal, New Guinea and Burma. Edward spent eleven months in the Pacific on Aircraft Carrier Uss Kalinin Bay CVE 68 and saw action in the Marshalls, the Marianas and the battle of the Phillipines. After Graduation from Enterprise, KS High School, Elvin entered the Army in August 1944. He took his basic training at Camp Hood and was asigned for paratrooper training. However, before he began his training, he was transferred to an Infantry replacement detachment early in 1945. Although no specifics were reported, it was known the First Army had by-passed Leipzig and was figthing near Dessau at the junction of the Muhide and Elbe rivers on April 15 when Elvin was killed.
