Pvt Frank E. Powers Jr. graduated from Swampscott High School and was a guard.

He enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 26 February 1942.

He was taken prisoner in Tunesia on 8 September 1943 and was held in the POW camp in Servigliano, Italy. At some date, he must have been transported to Germany, since he was buried at the Frankfurter Hauptfriedhof. His real date of death is unknown.

He is also mentioned on the Tablets of the Missing at the Nort Africa American Military Cementery and Memorial in Tunis, Tunisia.

Pvt Powers is also remembered at Ossipee Town Cemetery in Ossipee, Carroll County, New Hampshire with a memorial marker.

Note: The ABMC records his date of death as 1 November 1945. However, his grave marker is inscribed with 18 February 1944 as the date.
