Donald J. Coxson was a mechanic before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 24 June 1942. He was later transferred to the infantry.Pvt Coxcon was killed by small arms fire in the back.
He was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery Breuna N° 1. He was reinterred in a temporary grave at Margraten on 21 July 1945 and was given his final resting place on 1 March 1949.
