Short biography, provided by Mac Kennedy of the Boys Latin College:
George Cobb '41 first entered the halls of Boys' Latin in 1932 and was a student at Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, where he studied where he studied for a year. Born in Baltimore and raised at 1223 Round Hill Road in Northwood, he was a very good student especially excelling in English and English grammar. George was an associate editor of the school newspaper and according to the 1941 Commencement issue of the Inkwell he had a "beaming smile that proved quite an asset." In the 1941 class ballot George won the vote for "probable millionaire." George was tall but light at 140 pounds yet still managed to play football on the varsity football team and defenseman for the varsity lacrosse team. After he graduated from BL he attended Trinity College in Connecticut. His stay at Trinity was cut short with the outbreak of World War II when George enlisted into the United States Army.

He enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 12 June 1943.

His uncle, Lt Col David K. Claude, brother of pvt's Cobb's mother, was killed at Tarawa while serving with the United States Marines.

His remains have been recovered.
