Pvt John R. Jones Jr. graduated from Mars Hill College in 1936 and was a cafetaria chef before he enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 25 May 1944. He was sent overseas in October 1944.He is remembered at the Keener Cemetery, Sylva, Jackson County, North Carolina.
