Pvt Luther R. Schaeffer graduated from Allentown High School in 1937 and worked for the Mechanical Service Company.

He enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 1 June 1941. He trained at Camp Wheeler, Georgia, Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Meade, Maryland.
His brother Arland served in the Pacific and his brother Harold served in Europe.

The last picture was taken in high school in 1937.
