Pvt Herman G. Miller attended high school for 1 year and was a driver before he enlisted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on 18 January 1943.
He was taken prisoner of war in the vicinity of Brécey, France on 1 August 1944 and died of his injuries. Whether he died in a POW camp or in a hospital is not known.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Champigneul, France.
