Pfc Leonard A. Kaminski joined the National Guard in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 17 February 1941 as a sergeant.

He graduated from the Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1939 and was a chauffeur in civil life.

The photos on the right shows Pfc Kaminski with his girlfriend Anna Tutkus, also from Philadelphia and a nurse in the United States Navy.
