S/Sgt Kenneth F. Davis managed a dairy farm before he enlisted in Bangor, Maine on 20 November 1940.He had participated in the invasions of North Africa and Sicily, sustaining injuries to his face and eyes that left him with limited vision. S/Sgt Davis told his wife not to worry, though. He would be better in no time. He landed at Omaha Beach on 6 June 1944.
He died of multiple wounds.
S/Sgt Davis was initially buried at a temporary grave at Henri-Chapelle on 26 December 1944. He was given his final resting place on 30 June 1948.
