Pvt Joseph D. Pate enlisted at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia on 30 March 1944.

Pvt Pate was an attandant at a filling station before he enlisted. He was killed in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge.

He was first buried at Block LL, Row 6, Grave 103.
