Pfc Joseph P. Geraci enlisted in Rochester, New York on 25 January 1943.
He went overseas in September, 1944, with the 26th Infantry Division and was fighting in the Hürtgen Forest in Germany when he was killed. He was formerly a member of a Medical Corps unit at Syracuse and also was a student at the University of New Hampshire under the Army Specialized Training Program until the program was discontinued. He was graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School at Rochester and was employed by Bausch & Lomb Optical company as an optician before he entered the Army.
