Lt. Graziul had spent three years at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, before the outbreak of war, and he re-enlisted immediately after Pearl Harbor. He participted in the invasion of France and was featured in a press release for having taken a pistol from a German woman who was threatening American soldiers. Before going overseas he was stationed at Fort Custer, Michigan; Fort Benning, Ga., and Camp Phillip, Kansas.
