More information

Amrico's parents were immigrants from Italy. They gave several of their children, who were all born in the U.S, Italian names. However, they decided to Americanize their names at some point. Amrico, in some records also spelled as Americo, was originally born as Amedeo Constantino Pellegrino.

He enlisted on 23 March 1943 and trained at Camp Butner, South Carolina. He was sent overseas on 27 April 1944.

Sgt Amrico W. Pellegrino is buried next to his brother Nick.
