More information

Nick's parents were migrants from Italy. They gave several of their children, who were all born in the U.S, Italian names. However, they decided to Americanize their names at some point. Nick was originally born as Nicholas Pellegrino.

Pvt Nick V. Pellegrino is buried next to his brother Amrico.

He enlisted on 31 March 1944 and trained at Camp Hood, Texas. He was sent overseas on 8 September 1944.

He was reported wounded in action on 25 December 1944 by small arms fire. At that time his unit was fighting in the vicinity of Obermaubach, Germany.

The exact location where he died is not known.
