Pfc Donald E. Barber worked at a chemical plant before he enlisted in Fort McPherson Atlanta, Georgia on 15 March 1941.He suffered severe fraction wounds on both his legs.
He was first buried at Henri-Chapelle on 5 December 1944. He was disinterred on 29 October 1947 and his remains were prepared and placed in a casket on 5 November 1947. He was given his final resting place on 29 June 1948.
