Pfc Philip E. Tennant was employed at Canonsburg Steel And Iron Works.He enlisted on 30 November 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He entered the Army in December 1942 and received his combat training at Camp Phillips, Kan. Prior to taking part in the Normandy beachhead landings and the advancing with his unit through France and into Germany, Pfc Tennant had been stationed in Northern Ireland, following his arrival overseas in December 1943. Besides his parents Pfc Tennant was survived by a young daughter and 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
