Pfc Joseph Worthington attended Girard College in Philadelphia and worked at the Bendix Aviation Corporation before he enlisted in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania on 29 June 1944.He was wounded in action on 4 april 1945 and evacuated to the to the 67th Evacuation Hospital that was operating from a small grass field in Edingen at that time. He died a day later. (The information about the exact location of the 67th Evac. Hosp. was given by four eyewitnesses to Claudio Becker, a local researcher and historian.)
