T/4 Elvie J. Hudgeons enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 6 February 1943.

He suffered gunshot wounds in the face and the skull and died of his wounds in the 128th Evacuation Hospital, that was stationed in Krombach at that moment.

T/4 Hudgeons was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Breuna #1, Germany on 20 April 1945.
