Pfc Stanley C. Wojtkun enlisted in Providence, Rhode Island on 10 June 1943.He was graduated from Cumberland High School in 1943 and employed as a part-time worker at the Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation, Ashton, while in school. After his induction he trained with an anti-aircraft unit in Georgia and later transferred to the infantry in Texas. He went overseas in January 1945.
