Pfc Earl F. Harris enlisted in Columbus, Ohio on 10 November 1943 and received training at Camp Croft, South Carolina and Fort Meade, Maryland. He was sent overseas in June 1944, arriving in France in July 1944. He was wounded in action on 9 August 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal.
