Pvt Floyd E. Townsend was employed by A. J. Quinkert, Forest Service before he enlisted in Huntington, West Virginia on 12 June 1943. He was sent overseas in October 1944.He died on 24 December 1944 of wounds received in action on 10 December 1944, caused by artillery shell fragments to his hip and buttocks.
