More information

T/Sgt James P. Pearson was a machine operator apprentice before he enlisted in Richmond, Virginia on 22 June 1942.

T/Sgt Pearson's unit was engaged in the fighting for the village of Posterholt, The Netherlands. Most likely he was wounded in action because he was taken to the house of the Biermans Family in Vlodrop on a stretcher, where he died. At that time, Germans soldiers still occupied this house. He was initially buried in the garden (see photo).

After the war, his remains were evacuated to Margraten where he was given his final resting place. Ever since the Biermans Family has been the adopters of his grave and visit it on a regular basis.
