Pfc Robert F. Walsh was employed at the La Pomte Machine Tool Company before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 9 April 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his head.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
