Pvt Edgar A. Myers attended high school for two years and worked on a farm before he enlisted at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 16 March 1943.
He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
