Pvt Thomas J. Britton attended high school for three years and was employed at the Halcomb Steel before he enlisted at Fort Niagara, New York on 17 March 1942.He was killed by small arms fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Hochfelden, France.
