Capt Robert F. Keller attended the University of Michigan and was a purchasing agent en treasurer of the Keller Manufacturing Company.

He was first stationed at Fort Benning for eleven months and was sent to the South Pacific in April 1942. After serving in that area for seventeen months, he returned to the U.S. for hospitalization for dengue fever and malaria. After recovering he was sent to Infantry School at Fort Benning. After serving at several locations in the U.S., he arrived in France on 2 November 1944.

He was killed while leading a charge against a German machine gun placement.

He is remembered at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana.
